Planet VPN review

Planet VPN offers a native Android client as well as browser extensions. Its public Android certificate names the exact build and configuration that were assessed, which is useful if that is the client you are considering.

Which Android build did the lab assess?

The App Defense Alliance certificate issued October 28, 2026 covers version 8.5.7 of the Android app in its default configuration. Leviathan Security Group’s August 3 report identifies the test as a Mobile Application Security Assessment at level AL2. To see what Planet VPN says it records on its servers, use its separate privacy policy.

AIVPN is documented as a Chrome browser proxy. Planet VPN offers separate clients and extensions, so the Android certificate is relevant when you are choosing the native Android client. Planet’s refund policy describes a 14-day withdrawal window with conditions for direct contracts and sends app-store purchases to the respective store.

Anabel’s take

The app version is the first thing I’d look for in the certificate. I’d read it alongside the server privacy policy, especially if I planned to use the browser extension too.
