Bright Desire review
Bright Desire is an independent filmmaker’s archive with films, commentary, interviews and written work. Its public catalog lets you browse by category and has a separate section for award winners.
Streaming and downloads
The membership FAQ says the filmmaker’s exclusive videos can be streamed or downloaded to keep. The same FAQ lists guest films and other formats, so I would read that download promise as applying to the filmmaker’s own videos. Girls Out West also advertises downloads for members. Bright Desire’s FAQ goes a step further by saying you can keep the filmmaker’s own downloads.
Production and consent
Bright Desire’s public entry page says participants were adults when filmed or photographed. Its studio policy says boundaries are agreed before filming and that a performer can stop the shoot at any time. Those rules are described for Bright Desire’s own sets.
Anabel’s take
I’d open the award winners list first. The commentary and interviews are what would make me linger after I’d picked a film.
