NovelX review

NovelX gives you separate controls for revising a chapter and writing a fresh version. Its update log also distinguishes what you can recover on iOS from how a revision is charged on the web.

Revise the chapter you have

The web update log says Change this chapter can revise the draft to match a note or start a fresh version, with a choice of narrator. Another entry says Revise only uses a Gem when the text changes. The iOS notes describe Version History, which lets you restore an earlier version of a chapter written in the app.

Check what you can recover

NovelAI documents an edit history with branching Undo and Redo. NovelX documents earlier chapter versions for iOS and different revision behavior on the web. Its terms set 18+ access and say users retain ownership of generated output under the platform terms. The content rules address minors, non-consent, copyrighted characters and identifiable real people.

Anabel’s take

I'd send a focused revision note when I liked the chapter’s structure. I'd write a fresh version when I wanted to change the narrator’s point of view enough to reshape the scene.
