Sudowrite review

Sudowrite is a fiction editor with a Story Bible for characters, setting and plot. It also offers an adult-writing prompt tool. The export guide makes a practical distinction between the documents you can take out and the project notes used by the editor.

Give revisions the story’s context

The provider describes Story Bible as a place for notes used by tools such as Write, Draft and Expand. You can build it as you go. The terms require adult users, prohibit explicit content involving minors, and describe a licence to process a writer’s material as needed to provide and improve the service.

Export the manuscript separately from the notes

NovelAI documents story exports that can include notes and lore entries with the draft. Sudowrite can export project documents in a ZIP or merge them into one DOCX. Neither project export includes the Story Bible. The outline and character notes have separate CSV exports. The terms also say purchased credits do not expire and that using any credits requires an active subscription.

Anabel’s take

I'd keep a separate copy of the outline and character notes for a long project. Then I'd export the manuscript as one DOCX when I wanted to read it straight through in another editor.
