Tinder review

Tinder is a dating service for adults. Its free features include creating a profile, matching and chatting with people who have liked you back.

A match opens the chat

Tinder’s FAQ puts ordinary conversations after a mutual like. Gold shows people who have already liked you, and Platinum adds an option to message before matching. Adult Match Maker describes spending one credit to open a conversation. For Tinder subscriptions billed by Apple or Google, Tinder directs users to manage renewal through that store, including after deleting their profile.

Face Check and reporting serve different purposes

Tinder’s Face Check guide describes a video selfie in places where the check is required. The policy says Tinder retains two frames for age and likeness checks. It gives a standard retention period of 90 days after account closure, or a year if the account is banned. Tinder also explains how to report someone from a profile or chat and how to report online if the match has disappeared.

Anabel’s take

I’d use ordinary matches first. I’d look at Gold if seeing existing likes would save me time, and I’d read the Face Check notice for my location before sending a selfie.
