What stays in the backup
The privacy policy says uploaded images and messages are stored for 24 hours, with a six-month backup for legal requests. Just a Chat describes routine handling only for delivery and temporary retention when needed, including for investigations or legal obligations. I’d use a password if I wanted a room for a particular group. I’d keep uploads out of it if I wanted them gone when the room closed.
