BananaMovies review
BananaMovies uses movie-cover artwork for an archive of longer adult releases and compilations. A separate scene section and a year-based archive make its structure closer to a film shelf than a conventional tube feed.
- The cover is part of the design ThePornDude describes promotional cover images rather than ordinary frame grabs, with running times displayed on the previews.
- Search is the less convincing part ThePornDude reports weak results from text search despite useful tag and performer links on individual listings.
The cover is part of the design
ThePornDude describes promotional cover images rather than ordinary frame grabs, with running times displayed on the previews. The emphasis is on releases and compilations, while Porn Scenes opens a separate, more familiar thumbnail section. See also Shooshtime review. See also SpankBang review.
Years and studios organise the archive
A studio dropdown and year menu supply two different ways to group releases. The year list described in the review had gaps, so it should not be treated as a complete calendar of every addition. Nor is an original film release date necessarily the date it entered the archive.
Search is the less convincing part
ThePornDude reports weak results from text search despite useful tag and performer links on individual listings. A browsable link and a successful text query are different ways into the archive. The tagged names are useful, but the review’s search criticism remains a substantive limitation.
Anabel’s take
The cover art and year menu give BananaMovies a recognisable identity. I like that the full-film and scene collections remain separate. The search experience described by the references is the main weakness: a film archive needs its names and dates to work as more than decoration.
