IPVanish VPN review
IPVanish publishes information about server logging and explains where its apps keep diagnostics. Read those two documents separately if you want to understand what an auditor checked and what a device can retain.
Which records were within the audit scope?
Schellman’s February 21, 2025 report describes inspecting a baseline server image, an example VPN server and its logs. It also covers release controls for configuration changes. IPVanish’s public summary of the September 25, 2026 assessment describes configuration reviews and test traffic. The provider says the auditors found no retention of traffic or connection metadata. The full 2026 report is in the customer account portal.
Check local diagnostics and the purchase offer
Hide.me publishes a Securitum server-assessment report with its dated sample scope. IPVanish’s privacy policy separately describes diagnostic connection logs on the device and says they are disabled by default in the macOS and iOS apps. For payment, its terms tie the refund deadline to the signup offer you select.

Anabel’s take
I’d use the public 2025 report to see what the auditor inspected, then check my app’s diagnostics setting separately. I’d save the signup offer if I planned to rely on its refund window.
